iheart intervention 005

Installed in October of 2010 at the Witzenhausen Gallery NYC, iheart intervention 005 consisted of laser cut word and thought bubbles, painted blank black and juxtaposed with several art works in the show.

These intervention works were the most controversial to date, lasting only days into the show before protest from the artists’ camps reached a level where the gallery pulled the pieces down.

There was an intense debate and discussion, perhaps best left for the upcoming book on this series. For now, artist Jowhara Alsaud’s words shared at the opening speak volumes:

i don’t know whether to hug you or hit you.

This intervention occurred in the show of Jowhara Alsaud and Mitsy Groenendijk.
