PROPAGATE is a [sic] and Obey Giant film designed to shatter the spectacle of mediated experience. Using guerilla semiotics, PROPAGATE analyzes and mines propaganda systems for their most persuasive language, icons, metaphor and symbolism.

Designed as a beneficial mutating virus, the project naturally spreads through networked social and digital media systems. PROPAGATE defies historical propaganda with a goal for its participants to "question everything", to generate the biggest, most unbelievable coup of the mind possible.

The first phase of the project premiered at"Metataggers", a September 2002 show at the Cuture Cache gallery in San Francisco, featuring works by 47, DJ Spooky, and Shepard Fairey.
