MUSIC AND MIXES:

I started DJing in 1993 on KSPC 88.7fm, the "space that filled your void" in Los Angeles, and for four years, I went through several show formats and styles, including jazz, reggae/dancehall/dub and a free-for-all format. While in SoCal, I collected vinyl records, mostly reggae, dancehall, soul, jazz, funk, dub and old r&b, because of a love for the genres and plenty of pickings in the shops.

In the mid-90s, my ears turned to the rising sound of electronic music, house, techno, drum & bass, breaks, trip hop, and acid jazz. Closing in on 2000, I lived and djed in Madrid for almost a year, then wound up in San Francisco, delving deeper into the vibrant house and electronic scene there.

My old friends Christian Martin, Justin Martin, and Barclay Crenshaw (Claude Von Stroke) still hold down SF with the Dirty Bird sound system and label.

Now NYC-based and deeper into art production, I still play here and there, always with the goal to guide on a transcendant journey through musical time and space.

A mix from 2001 in SF:

A recent curated mix in Lund, Sweden for the Lund 2014 exhibition (I did not name it :):
